Or does the AMG GT look very porsche-like?

It actually looks a bit of hodge podge to me - the front end is very Mercedes, exactly like a scaled down SLS, which was the intent. But the A-pillars, doors, roof line remind me very much of the newer BMW Z4 with the hard top. The rear is very Porsche like - the lines remind me of the Panamera, like some tried to take that design language and sculpt a new 928.

GT cars look like GT cars. Longer hoods, rounded backs. 2 or 2+2 seats.

Compare this to a SLK to a 928 to a Crossfire to an E-type to an Interceptor and even a Volvo P1800 and there is a same basic shape.

At this point in design you can argue it looks like another make or within the same manufacturer.
